I decided to switch back to my korganizer calendar client. The main feature that caused this is exporting the calander. Korganizer exports a text .ics file. The thunderbird extention uses an sql based format and I didn't want to mess with it.

xubuntu

Over the past few weeks I have switched over to xubuntu. This distro uses xfce desktop manager and is more light weight than gnomw or kde. I had a bit of a learning curve, but now I like it very much.

I have also switched over to thunderbird for my email. Mainly because of gpg enigma - now I can easily sign all my email. Today I installed the lightspeed calancer extention to replace korganizer. I works very well for me because it has both calander and todo features.
