feisty fawn - no sound

I tried the new feisty fawn live cd on my toshiba a105-s1013 laptop and there was no sound. The formums and bug reporting center have lots of reports of this and similar, no sound problems, and there have been several fixes published, but I am just going to stay with edgy eft and wait for the next release of ubuntu in October.
